Video Streaming
What is it?
Instructor or student-produced content is encoded and made available on our streaming website. MediaVision provides live and on-demand video streaming services in high (655k), mid (255k) and low (56k) bandwidth stream rates to ensure universal access. On-demand videos can be accessed at video.csupomona.edu
How does it help?
On demand video facilitates anywhere, anytime learning for your students. Students can replay the videos as needed for review and retention of content. Live streaming provides a vehicle for sharing a live, on campus event with off-campus viewers. Live streaming requires the integration of real-time captions. Main Points to Consider
- Request streaming services 6 weeks in advance for live events and 2 weeks in advance for on-demand streaming
- For on-demand videos, a release form signed by the copyright holder of the video must be provided to MediaVision staff (see Resources section for example release form)
- Videos streamed on MediaVision streaming servers must adhere to accessibility standards. Please see Accessibility Requirements for details. All live-streamed events will need to be live-captioned.
