Prerequisites For Calculus Courses

The table below shows the minimal entry requirements for Introductory calculus courses: Math 114 (Analytic Geometry and Calculus I), 120 (Calculus for the Life Sciences), 125 (Introductory Calculus for Business), and 130 (Technical Calculus I). These requirements are in addition to the California State University System's ELM requirement.

PreCalculus MDPT Algebra subscore 30-50 with trig subscore of 8-10

*Students who have an algebra subscore of at least 37 and are currently enrolled in Math 106 must see the Mathematics Department in 8-113 BEFORE preregistration. Banner is currently not programmed to handle this case, and you will not be able to preregister for Math 114 without the help of the Mathematics Department.

Prerequisites For First Year Courses Other Than Calculus

The table below shows the minimal entry requirements for Entry Level courses other than calculus: Math 105 (College Algebra), 106 (Trigonometry), 112 (Preparation for Calculus), 191 (Survey of Mathematics), and Stat 120 (Statistics with Applications). These requirements are in addition to the California State University System's ELM requirement.

+With certain MDPT scores, students must see the Mathematics department in 8-113 BEFORE preregistering for M112 while currently enrolled in Math 105/106 as phone registration is not able to handle these exceptions.
