Exemptions from the ELM
 

Students who satisfy one of the following are exempt from taking the ELM test, and are considered to have satisfied the ELM requirement.

  • A score of 550 or higher on the Mathematics section of the SAT or SAT I
  • A score of 23 or higher in the Mathematics section ACT (or a 24 if taken before October 1989
  • A score of 550 or higher on the Mathematics Test Level I, II, or IIC of the Achievement Test of the SAT
  • A score or 550 or highter on of the Mathematics Test Level I, II, or IIC of the SATII/Subjet Test (first offered in January 1994)
  • A score of 3 or higher on the Calculus AB or BC examination of the Advanced Placemnt Test
  • A score of 3 or higher on the Statistics examination of the Advanced Placemnt Test
  • Approved G. E. Math class (C or better) successfully completed prior to the first quarter of enrollment at Cal Poly Pomona
