Mthematics Diagnostic Placement Test (MDPT)

The July 26 MDPT is closed to online registration.  In-person registration takes place in 8-111 July 14-18.  Please see hours of operation on the door.

NOTE: Fall 08 Engineering and Science majors who received a link to a special May test and missed that test can register on this site for the June or July test.  The link from the May email is no longer valid.

THIS REQUIREMENT MUST BE MET WITHIN THE IMMEDIATE THREE QUARTERS PRIOR TO ENROLLMENT IN MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS COURSES. There are two tests: Mathematical Analysis (for MAT 12, 105, 106, 125, 137, 191, STA 120); and Pre-calculus (for MAT 112, 114, 120, 130). All test results include cutoff scores for lower level courses.

Test are given each quarter, including summer quarter. Students must register in advance at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics Office (Building 8, Room 113) or online ( Online Registration). You may also register for the MDPT by completing a registration form and submitting it to the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, which is located in Building 8, Room 113. You will find the registration form, as well as sample questions and other information, on the bulletin board located outside of the Department.
