Department
of Mathematics and Statistics at Cal Poly Pomona is pleased to announce
the recruitment of new faculty member, Dr. Hubertus von Bremen.
Dr. von Bremen received his Ph.D. from the University of Southern
California in 1999 and B.S. from Cal Poly Pomona in 1986. Currently,
he is a research assistant professor of Mathematics department at
USC and will join our department from Summer 2004.
His current research areas include computational
methods in dynamical systems, feedback control of structural systems
under strong excitation forces, experimental and analytical vibration
response of structures, development of advanced micro/macro machine
augmented composites. The research on machine augmented composites
involves the multi-physics modeling and design of microstructures.
His research on machine augmented composites is being funded by
a grant from The Aerospace Corporation. He has many years of experience
in teaching and has published technical articles in various journals.
With no doubt, he will be the valuable addition to our department.
Welcome, Hubertus!
