Useful Internet Sites for Chemists:

• Interactive Periodic Table Just click "stop" once the table has loaded, and when you move your mouse over an element, it gives you all the info. Plus, if you click on an element, it gives you a real picture of what the element looks like! There also is a handy temperature converter at the bottom. Best viewed with Internet Explorer.

• Beilstein Abstracts on ChemWeb: FREE abstracts via the Web! Users are able to access titles, abstracts and citations from the top journals in organic and related chemistry, published from 1980 to the present. There are currently approximately 600,000 articles in the Beilstein Abstracts Database. Users must join ChemWeb.com (membership is free).

  
  
• MSDS Great listing of where to find Material Safety Data Sheets, compiled by the University of Kentucky.
  
  
• ChemFinder offers a way to search for chemical compounds over the World Wide Web and is much like an online CRC Handbook. It is a chemical database, so it can also provide information that a general-purpose WWW search engine cannot, including physical property data and 2-D chemical structures.
  
  
• ChemCenter has been created by the American Chemical Society (ACS) and incorporates major web resources of the ACS Publications Division and Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS). Online C&E News has cool sites like What's That Stuff?
  
  
• Sheffield ChemDex A comprehensive list of Chemistry Internet sites compiled by Mark Winter at the University of Sheffield, England. Includes:
  
  
  • WebElements, an online Periodic Table.
    
    
  • ChemPuter, an interactive chemistry calculator (isotope patterns, element percentages, oxidation states and electron counting for complexed metals).
