To be eligible to participate in Cal Poly's LSAMP program, students must:

• Be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident;
• Be enrolled at Cal Poly in an undergraduate major in a STEM discipline or have expressed an interest in pursuing a STEM baccalaureate degree;
• Be a member of a group that has traditionally been underrepresented in higher education or has faced or faces social, educational, or economic barriers to careers in STEM.

Entry to LSAMP: Students may enter LSAMP at several points in their undergraduate careers:

• Summer Quest program for first-time freshman and transfer students
• Enrollment & successful completion of EGR 100 or Sci 110/111 (Introduction to Engineering/Science courses plus lab)
• Academic Excellence Workshops in math, science and engineering courses.

By participating in the CSU-LSAMP Program you agree to have your name and address listed in a national directory of graduates in the STEM field during the year in which you expect to graduate and you give CSU-LSAMP permission to access your grades (which will remain confidental).

Although the project's goals and anticipated outcomes are stated in terms of improving URM participation in STEM, it is important to emphasize that CSU-LSAMP does not limit participation to URM students or provide URM students preference in admisstion.
