The College Reading Skills Program awards College Completion Challenge Grants of at least $400 to eligible participants. To be eligible, a participant must be a freshman or sophomore receiving a Pell Grant. Priority consideration is then given to those who are enrolled in one of the LRC one-unit courses and/or have a disability.

Eligible participants must complete several CRSP requirements to receive a grant. These requirements afford students opportunities to familiarize themselves with the campus community and to enhance academic, professional, cultural or personal growth. These requirements include:

Attending bi-weekly tutorials to complete a minimum of 15 sessions during the quarter.
Having no more than 2 absences from tutorial sessions during the quarter.
Participating in CRSP’s professional mentoring activity.
Attending an on-campus workshop or cultural event that provides an opportunity for growth in professional, academic, and/or personal skills and attributes.

The College Reading Skills Program has been awarding College Completion Challenge Grants since Fall 2001 and is excited to continue offering such a valuable opportunity to students.
