FTP Settings for your CIS 421 FTP account

If you need an ftp program, you can download a free ftp program such as WinSCP.

VPN required, even on campus

You will need to VPN into Cal Poly in order to FTP to these servers if I am unable to get a change to the subnet settings for the 4-27 servers. Thus if you try to connect using the settings below,

  • First try setting up VPN and then reconnecting via an FTP program
  • If that doesn't work, email me and I will check your login/password on the server

Consult the VPN pages on the Cal Poly eHelp Web site.

If VPN does not work you need to go to the Helpdesk in Building 1 to have them reset your network password.
Or reset your network password at:

http://www.csupomona.edu/~ehelp/faq/general_faq.html#network_password

If you cannot access the Internet via a browser when VPN is connected, you need to uncheck Use Default Gateway: Directions on the eHelp site:

To view list of student accounts:

Example: If I had an account, my account URL would be:

You have full access inside your own account. You can create whatever subdirectories you want.

  • FTP logins are DISABLED 7 days after last final so be sure you save a copy of content that you want to use or see later
