Distort Filters

Distort Filters create unusual effects 

• Diffuse Glow creates effect of glowing light 
• Displace shifts color values in pixels based on a displacement map file -- several come with Photoshop -- shifts a selection using a color value from the displacement map--0 is the maximum negative shift, 255 the maximum positive shift, and a gray value of 128 produces no displacement 
• Glass creates rippling effect with varying texture sizes and effects 
• Ocean ripple - creates rippling effect 
• Pinch - squeezes images inward and outward 
• Polar Coordinates - changes rectangular object into circular one or vice versa 
• Ripple displaces pixels to create a ripple effect 
• Shear bends image according to curve you define in dialog box 
• Spherize - makes image spherical (blows it up) 
• Twirl creates pinwheel effect 
• Wave - creates wavelike distortion of different types and sizes 
• Zigzag - creates ripples and twirling effects
