CS3 Dual Brushes
What are they?
- Combines two tips to create brush marks
- Second brush texture is applied within brush strok of primary brush
- Only areas in intersection of where 2 brush strokes are painted
How to use them
- open a new image in Photoshop
- Select a primary brush
- set options for primary brush in tool options bar
- Open the Brushes Palette on the right
- Click the Dual Brush check box on the Brush Tip Shape window on the left
- Select a second brush tip from Dual Brush section of Brushes palette
- View results in bottom section of Brush Palette
- Set any of following options
- Select a blending mode
- Diameter: Select a diameter in pixels or drag the slider or click Sample Size to use original diameter of brush tip (if it exists)
- Spacing to control distance between dual tip brush marks in a stroke by typing in number of using slider
- Scatter which specifies how dual tip brush marks are distributed in a stroke
- When both axes are selected, dual brush marks are distributed in a radial direction
- When both Axes are deslected, dual brush marks are distributed perpendicular to stroke path
- Specify number or slider to specify maximum % of scattering
- Count specifes number of dual tip brush marks applied at each spacing interval
- Select a foreground and background color (one for each brush)
- Try painting on an image or on a blank canvas to see results
