Lori Rosenbauer Huff offers instruction
in saxophone, flute, saxophone quartet, woodwind fundamentals and techniques,
Interactive Music for the Elementary Classroom, Music Literature for Children
and an Introduction to Music at California State Polytechnic University,
Pomona. Ms. Huff holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Cal
Poly, Pomona and a Master of Musicology from California State University,
Los Angeles. She is an expert in the field of saxophone pedagogy with
emphasis on traditional and classical performance techniques and proper
interfacing of saxophone mouthpieces to individual performance situations.
Professor Huff has studied saxophone with Dr. James Mooney and Dr. James
Rötter, principle saxophonist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Ms.
Huff's research publications include "A Statement of Christian Belief
in Igor Stravinsky's Religious Compositions" and various articles.
She has studied musicology with Dr. Ellen Kravitz and Dr. Olga Termini
while completing her graduate studies at Cal State L. A. Professor Huff
is considered an authority on the use of music as an instructional augmentation
in elementary school classroom environments and has consulted extensively
in this area. An experienced and accomplished performer, Ms. Huff appears regularly with the Claremont Symphonic Winds, Fullerton Community College Wind Ensemble, and the Sierra Saxophone Quartet. Her discography includes "Claremont Winds" with the Claremont Symphonic Winds, "Rejoiussance" with the Professional Christian Wind Ensemble, and "An Evening with the Sierra Saxophone Quartet". Professor Huff is in demand as a performer, clinician and instructor to all levels of music education. She has trained some of the finest young saxophonists in the nation, including both state and national honor band members. |
