The landscape irrigation profession has expanded rapidly and career opportunities are plentiful. The Landscape Irrigation Science program provides a broad background in the interrelationships of water, plants, soils, and the environment, along with the principles of irrigation system design and water management. An effective irrigation system and water management plan can enhance the quality of the landscape and conserve water resources.
This program will educate individuals who will be involved in the planning, design, operation and management of landscape irrigation and drainage systems for residential and commercial developments, parks, golf courses, public grounds, cemeteries, and other urban and recreational landscaped areas.
Students pursuing studies in Landscape Irrigation Science design modern irrigation systems, provide irrigation water management and develop and implement best management practices that improve efficiency and protect our valuable water resources in California.
