American Society for Testing and Materials - ASTM
Free searching of ASTM standards. Abstracts of standards are included in the database. Full-text copies of the standards are available in the Library, see Annual Book of ASTM Standards, Ref TA 401 A653.
National Institute of Standards and Technology - NIST
NIST is a government agency with the mission of promoting U.S. economic growth by working with industry to develop and apply technology, measurements, and standards.
International Organization for Standardization - ISO
A network of national standards institutes from 140 countries. Issues ISO 9000 and other standards.
Cal Poly Pomona students, faculty, and staff should consult Document Delivery about obtaining standards not available in the Library.
The largest publicly-accessible collection of standards in the area is at the Los Angeles Public Library (Central Library), Science, Technology, and Patents Department; see the LAPL Standards and Specifications guide.
Standards can be obtained from commercial sources as well as from the standards-issuing agencies. In addition to selling standards, these companies may provide information about standards and links to other standards information.
