1. Introduction Welcome! This tutorial will provide a general orientation to the Cal Poly Pomona Library and introduce you to the wealth of political science resources available to Cal Poly Pomona students. The links on the left are the main sections of the Tutorial. Each section contains several pages. Make sure you look at all of them. You can also go directly to any section, but note that later sections will refer to information explained in earlier sections. Also, all links to webpages not within this site will open in a new window. Please complete the Library Exercise before you leave. It will help us evaluate the effectiveness of this tutorial and it gives you the opportunity to ask questions. Political science students: ask your instructor about receiving extra credit for completing this library exercise. In addition to this Library tutorial, you may find the PLS 101A Resources link to be useful. This page was designed for political science majors who are enrolled in PLS 101A, Resources in Political Science, or for anyone needing guidance in locating materials related to political science. It contains basic reference sources, information on careers and jobs in political science, dictionaries, biographical sources, statistics, websites, finding government documents and information, and some recommended Cal Poly Pomona Library journal article databases. You can download a Word document copy here. The first thing to learn about the Library is that every department or college has a librarian liaison who is responsible for helping the students and faculty of that unit. Please contact your political science Librarian at any time. I look forward to meeting you in person. Donald Page
