Use the Library Catalog to find books and other materials in the Library. In addition to books, all of the Library's journals, newspapers, recordings, reports, software, and any other holdings are in the Library Catalog. Electronic journals and electronic books are also cataloged and the Library Catalog has links to the electronic materials.
Do not use the Library Catalog if you want to search for journal articles. Use the databases described below to search for journal articles.

Library Tutorial for Engineering
Databases provide subject access to journal articles, papers, reports and other publications. The Cal Poly Pomona Library provides access to nearly 100 databases. Use these databases to find articles in Engineering journals:
Applied Science Full Text (WilsonWeb)
Provides access to over 450 English language engineering and science journals, 1983 to present. The database includes full text articles from about 20% of the journals. Excellent coverage of chemical and materials engineering and industrial chemistry.
Compendex (Engineering Village)
From Engineering Information. Indexes over 2600 journals published worldwide in all engineering disciplines; also covers conference papers, reports, and publications of engineering societies. 1969 to present.
IEEE Xplore
Full-text access to IEEE transactions, journals, magazines and conference proceedings, and all current IEEE Standards. Journals and conference proceedings of the IET are also included in the product. Check out IEEE's tutorials for tips on using the database.
ACM Digital Library
Access to journals and other publications of the Association for Computing Machinery.
Synthesis Digital Library of Engineering and Computer Science
A collection of short books, or "lectures", on engineering topics. Most of the Synthesis collection is devoted to electrical, electronics, and computing topics.

The ebook version is also available.
Lighting Handbook. Illuminating Engineering Society. (Ref TK 4125 I375)
Reference Manual for Telecommunications Engineering. Freeman. (Ref TK 5102.5 F68)
Standard Handbook for Electrical Engineers. Fink & Beaty. (Ref TK 151 S8)
Standard Handbook of Electronic Engineering. Christiansen. (Ref TK 7825 E34)
These handbooks provide:
Other engineering handbooks can be found using the Online Catalog. Use the subheading HANDBOOKS with your subject, e.g. COMPUTERS HANDBOOKS, ELECTRONICS HANDBOOKS.
Manufacturers of semiconductors and other electronic components usually provide data books, application notes, and other detailed product information. Most of the manufacturers provide this material on their websites. To find manufacturers' websites, start with:
ThomasNet
Thomas Register of American Manufacturers, a searchable directory of manufacturers of all types of manufactured products; includes links to manufacturers' homepages.
Yahoo: Business and Economy: Business to Business: Electronics
Most of the major companies are listed under Semiconductors: Makers, but check out the other categories as well.
