Dr. Thomas Pinney is a Professor of English, Emeritus, at Pomona College and an expert on George Elliot, Lord Macaulay, and Rudyard Kipling. His definitive two volume A History of Wine in America, traces the complex history of making wine in the United States, and is the outcome of his long-standing interest in American wines dating back to his graduate school days. In 2005 he donated his extensive wine research files and wine book collection to Cal Poly Pomona Library, and provided a detailed catalog to his collection. All Pinney Collection research files, ephemera and artwork are available for viewing, however the book collection is in storage and not yet accessible.
