| Antez was one of Mr. Kellogg's favorite horses.
Once during 1926 while riding Antez, Mr. Kellogg had an accident
on a steep trail. The ground was soft after a rain and eventually
it gave way under the horses hoofs. Mr. Kellogg slipped off and
fell under the horse but his foot remained caught in the stirrup.
The horse could easily have crushed or dragged the rider, however,
Antez stood still and did not move until help came. Mr. Kellogg
always believed that Antez had saved his life. |
