No. 33 - Distillery operator standing on the framework
of an early version of continuous pot still built by Mr. Levy of Los
Angeles. Each one of the little openings is really a little still
in itself. The wine enters the top of the still, and goes through
the various boiling processes, and moves on downward through the still
with an ever decreasing alcohol content. The operator kept checking
the alcohol level of the dispatch by putting his finger in the material
and tasting it.
