Faculty Guide:
Requesting Library Purchases

Cal Poly Pomona faculty who would like to have books or other materials added to the Library collection can accomplish this by using the 'Suggestion for Purchase' form or by contacting the appropriate Subject Specialist by email, campus mail, phone, or in-person at the University Library, Building 15. Students, staff, and other library users are welcome to contact the Subject Specialists with comments or suggestions about the collection.

When making requests:

  • Please provide as much information as possible about the item; at minimum author, title, and publisher.
  • You may send publisher's catalogs or brochures (with the desired items marked) to the appropriate Subject Specialist.
  • You can specify that you want the requested item be:
    • placed in RESERVE OR
    • RUSH processed and held for your at the circulation desk OR
    • that you be NOTIFIED when the book is available for checkout.

Our current budget situation may not allow us to honor all requests. The Subject Specialist will contact you if there is a problem with filling the order.
