Course Reserves You can place items from our collection or your own personal property (books, articles, past exams, etc.) on Reserve.  We also offer electronic reserves.
Library Instruction We have an active Library Instruction Program, where we can show your class how to use the library (request a session here) or you can have your students use our tutorials and guides including a new Virtual Library Tour, a 40 minute introduction to the library via videos and fun quizzes. We have an interactive database workshop  that you can assign to your students for extra credit. We have occasional open workshops for students and faculty: they will be announced on our News page.  Also, we have a guide to creating Effective Library Assignments. Your students can also use our Help Pages for help with particular situations.
Blackboard and the Library We have a special page describing the library participation with blackboard. This page appears under your "E-Library" tab in blackboard. There is a default page that will appear under your students' "E-Library" tab. Contact your subject specialist for help with customizing that page.
Librarian Assisted Research Need help with your research? Contact our reference desk (869.3084) for general help, or one of our subject specialists for special help.
Search+
an advanced database searching tool.
One of our newer products is SEARCH+, a way to search up to 10 databases at a time.  Recommended for your advanced students.
Collection Management Our Collection Management Team (under the direction of our Dean) is responsible for choosing material to put in our collection. If you want to recommend items for purchase, use our online Suggestion for Purchase form, or you may consult directly with your department’s subject specialist librarian. Most book purchase requests will be honored, but requests for new journals, serials, or databases have to be carefully evaluated.  Books are usually ready for use within 30 days of request. If you are requesting a book for Reserve or need the book by a certain date, please notify us when you request the book and it will be treated as a rush order. Please be aware that we do not have funds year round for the purchase of materials. There is a list of new books received in the library.
Institutional Repository The Cal Poly Pomona University Library is developing an Institutional Repository Service to assist the campus community in storing, distributing, and locating selected digital materials.
Open Access Resources We encourage faculty participation in the open access movement.  By publishing in journals which do not charge libraries for access, you contribute to the well being of the library.
Golden Leaves Program The library recognizes Cal Poly people who have published a book with the annual Golden Leaves Program.
