All registered Cal Poly Pomona undergraduate students not absent more than one quarter, new pre-registrants who have paid their fees, and students in the CSU External Degree Program, are governed by this policy.
To activate borrowing privileges, each student must register and obtain a library PIN/Password. All currently enrolled students are automatically registered with the Library. If you encounter problems, please contact the Library Circulation Desk. Each patron must show a Cal Poly Pomona Bronco Access Card and a driver license. A Payment Verification/Study List, or a validated Program Change Form, is required for late registration students.
Certain groups (e.g., Open University, and Extension Students) to whom Photo ID's are not usually issued must show a current quarter fee receipt or a Payment Verification/Study List as a proof of enrollment, and an official photo ID or a drivers license.
The Cal Poly Pomona Bronco Access Card or the Cal Poly Pomona Library issued card along with an official photo ID or a driver license are required when completing any type of library transaction. (e.g.; CHECKOUT, RENEWAL, PLACE HOLDS/SEARCH, or PAY FEES).
A maximum of 30 items may be borrowed at any given time. Books can be renewed in person or electronically, NOT BY PHONE. One or more item(s) overdue will keep you in delinquent status and no further transactions will be allowed until overdue status is cleared. For more detailed information, see the circulation staff.
Periodicals, Pamphlets/Maps, Audio, Audiovisual, Software, and Reserve materials may be checked out for shorter periods. Some selected materials are Library Use Only.
Only the replacement fee is refundable, minus a $6.60 processing fee, if the book is returned in good condition and within one-year of payment date.
The overdue fees are: for Circulation, $.15 cents per item per day. For Periodicals, $.50 cents per item per hour or $1.00 per item per day, and Reserve ranges from $.15 per item per day, $.50 cents per item per hour or $1.00 per item per day, depending on materials borrowed. The replacement cost, a processing fee and a billing fee will be charged for unreturned or lost materials.
Failure to meet obligations will result in temporary loss of borrowing privileges and a hold will be placed on your university record. In addition, for excessive overdue materials you will be sent to the Franchise Tax Board.
In an attempt to limit unauthorized use of library materials, library personnel will record the name and identification number of anyone attempting to leave the library without properly checking out materials. Students who are repeat offenders will have their history forwarded to the Director of Judicial Affairs, who will investigate each reported case for potential disciplinary action, up to and including suspension or expulsion from the California State University system.
At graduation or upon expiration of a valid Payment Verification/Study List.
