Lending Policy - Faculty, Staff, Emeriti

All Cal Poly Pomona University and Cal Poly Pomona Foundation academic, professional, administrative, technical and clerical personnel, whether full or part time, including lecturers and educational support professionals, except student assistants and work study students, are governed by this lending policy, which also applies to Emeriti faculty and staff, and was adopted by the Academic Senate (FS-436-81/IS).

REGISTRATION

All faculty, staff and most emeriti are automatically registered with the Library each Quarter. The first time you use the Library, go to My Library Account and assign yourself a password.

PIN/PASSWORD

A library Password (sometimes called a PIN) is needed for many transactions and to access many databases. This may be a combination of letters and/or numbers. We recommend that you use your Bronco Direct password so you don't forget it.

TRANSACTIONS

The Cal Poly Pomona Bronco Access Card, or the Cal Poly Pomona Library issued card along with a driver license or an official photo ID, are required when completing any type of library transaction. (e.g., CHECKOUT, RENEWAL, PLACE HOLD/SEARCH, or PAY ANY TYPE OF FEE).

CONDITIONS

A total of 50 books may be borrowed until the end of the quarter.  Books are renewable in person with or without books in hand, electronically, or by telephone. Periodicals, Pamphlets/Maps, Audio, Audiovisual, and Reserve materials may be checked out for shorter periods. Microforms are to be used in the library only.  Books checked out can be recalled back to 28 days from the original checkout date.

LOST BOOK REFUNDS

Only the replacement fee is refundable, minus a $6.60 processing fee, if the book is returned in good condition and within one-year of payment date.

OBLIGATIONS

Lost or unreturned overdue books will be billed per the CSU fee schedule; i.e., replacement cost of material, and a processing fee.

PENALTIES

Failure to return overdue material will result in temporary loss of borrowing privileges until they are returned or paid for. At the time of separation, a hold will be placed on the final pay warrant for library obligations.

ATTEMPTED THEFT

In an attempt to limit unauthorized use of library materials, library personnel will record the name and identification number of anyone attempting to leave the library without properly checking out materials. Faculty and staff who are repeat offenders will be referred to the appropriate Vice President’s office for potential disciplinary action.

EXPIRATION

Upon separation from the University, except for Emeriti.
