The intent of the Hispanic Studies Collection was to integrate the Hispanic culture into mainstream academic scholarship while supporting the curriculum at Cal Poly Pomona and affiliated Link+ campuses. The Hispanic Studies Collection reflects the Hispanic culture and brings the Hispanic perspective to the entire Cal Poly Pomona curriculum. The subject parameters were very broad and allowed us to acquire materials reflecting a wide range of topics and issues relevant to Latino, Hispanic, or Chicano culture in the United States including the arts, literature, history, education, politics, social issues, and more. We also acquired materials related to Latin America, Central America, Mexico, Spain and the Caribbean.
The HSI grant added more than 5000 books, media materials and electronic resources to the library. Click on a link to view our acquisitions in the Library catalog:
The Papers of Willard Dickerman Straight are now available in digital form at the University Library. The digitization of the papers was made possible through funds from the Library's HSI Grant to expand the Hispanic Studies Collection.
