Questions/Issues to address:

•  What is the nature and scope of the project or program?

•  How does it contribute to becoming more learning-centered?

Sections of the poster might include:

•  Title

•  Introduction

•  Resources

•  Methods

•  Results

•  Lessons Learned

•  Conclusions

•  For more information

Use a mix of text and graphics!

For your text consider:

•  large font

•  bullets

Software:

QuarkXPress and InDesign might be the best, but we've gotten good results using Illustrator and PowerPoint. There is PowerPoint template for posters available - http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC100214271033.aspx .

REMEMBER:

A poster should give the basics BUT provide a means for more discussion.

One good source is provided by our own Curtis Clark: http://www.csupomona.edu/~jcclark/classes/bio542l/poster.html

Another nice source for tips on posters has been developed by a biologist at Swarthmore College - http://www.swarthmore.edu/NatSci/cpurrin1/posteradvice.htm.
