HST 462 Senior Thesis

Peer Group Review Worksheets

Prof. Zuoyue Wang

Instruction: As we have discussed in my office, a good history senior thesis should:

  1. present a clear thesis statement that indicates what¡¦s original in your argument;
  1. be supported by a rich narrative built on a variety of sources;
  1. flow well from sentence to sentence, paragraph to paragraph, and section to section;
  1. be free of grammatical errors;
  1. conclude with a thoughtful reflection that recaptures your main argument and relate your case study to the broader historical debate you have sketched in the historiography section;
  1. follow consistently the Turabian style for footnotes and bibliography (see a style guide on my website: http://www.csupomona.edu/~zywang/style.html).

The purpose of this exercise is for you to offer critical but constructive feedback to your classmates with the above criteria in mind so they can improve their papers.
