History 461-462 Senior Thesis
Assessment of Learning
The department aims for its graduates to gain a solid, general understanding of past historical events, individuals, and major theories explaining historical changes in their global contexts. They should, through instruction and practice, be able to think historically and critically, write clearly, know how to conduct historical research, communicate their ideas effectively, and, for those pursuing track two, teach history in a competent and stimulating way.
Please write a few sentences under each heading to reflect on your HST 461-462 experience of writing the senior thesis in view of the above learning goals, with some details and with any suggestions for improvement. Please also fill a numerical number 1-5 in the bracket under each question, with 5 (very much), 4 (much), 3 (some), 2 (fair), 1 (little).
