I cleaned cages, swept the floor, observed the veterinarian do ear cropping on a dog, observed the veterinarian do a teeth extraction on a dog, observed the technician do a teeth cleaning on a dog, helped the technician restrain a dog for anesthesia, and I also cleaned surgical instruments to make spay packs.
I learned that the anesthesia machine is set at level 3 for large dogs and I believe it was level 2 for small dogs. For the spay packs, there are a total of nine surgical instruments. The spay packs are labeled according to the size of the surgical instruments (small, medium, and large). For the teeth cleaning, each tooth must be cleaned to where the tooth meets the gum line.
