Outcomes indicate that an adequate number of students may not receive health promotion and disease prevention programs to allow achieveing targets for Healthy Campus 2010 objectives. Resources appear to be inadequate to provide intellectual and experiential health education, social marketing, or brief screening and intervention health coaching to make population-wide changes in health status or behavior. At least 55% of students may need to education on each leading college health issue (Healthy Campus 2010, Objective 7-3b).
On an individual basis for brief body composition screenings and interventions students receiving 3-months post-tests appear to have learned how to eat better and/or be more physically active, and have used behaviors they used. Outcomes show decreased fat and increased lean weights, and increased Lean Body Mass Indexes (LBMI) and decreased Body Mass Indexes (BMI).
The longitudinal outcomes indicate that when a program ceases or is scaled down learning and development decrease. In terms of the university mission to enhance learning, development and knowledge decrease.
