This is a presentation to the Alcohol Policy and Program Advisory Committee focusing on social drinking norms of Cal Poly Pomona students.
It compares the social norms of drinking and protective behaviors of Cal Poly Pomona students to 16,024 college students nationally. It also shows Cal Poly Pomona trends and results from two social norms interventions. Data comes from the National College Health Assessment in Spring 2000.
Social norms interventions are part of the recommendations from the California State University Board of Trustees to support safe, legal, responsible, moderate consumption of alcohol for those who choose to drink. See the report at http://www.calstate.edu/infocenter/AlcoholReportFinal.pdf.
