Under general supervision, receive, balance and account for cash receipts for registration, parking, housing, etc.; disburse checks to employees and students; process pre-registration payments through the BANNER Student System using a PC terminal; input payments to student accounts; annotate the BANNER receipt number on payment instruments; endorse payment instruments; batch payments; reconcile totals; perform general cashiering duties including processing a high volume of registration and parking related transactions; ensure student registration eligibility and calculate fees and tuition; determine student eligibility for financial aid; collect and reconcile amounts due; data entry; filing; other duties as assigned.
One year of general clerical experience; working knowledge of arithmetic and general office methods, practices, and procedures; ability to learn basic financial record-keeping methods, practices, and procedures; make arithmetic calculations with speed and accuracy; maintain files and records; follow oral and written directions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; read, understand, and apply rules and regulations; operate standard office machines such as a calculator, adding machine, date stamp, typewriter, and/or word processor; and use personal computers and/or automated accounting systems. Type 45 net wpm .
Experience in cashiering and student services in an educational environment.
*Employment in this position may end before, or be extended, beyond the date stated in a temporary status, and/or be converted to a full-time, probationary or part-time, temporary position contingent upon the operational needs of the University.
