The goal of the Instructional & Information Technology Division is to provide an environment that encourages and enables all members of the campus community to reach and maintain a level of technological competence and comfort that facilitates their access to the information and service appropriate to their role on campus and forms a basis for professional and personal growth.
The Multimedia Designer and Developer will create interactive, online multimedia experiences designed to promote active engagement between web site visitors and the university community; translate client ideas into illustrative web layouts taking into consideration color, typography, images, rich media integration, and other matters concerning overall graphic design; utilize web design standards that are in compliance with W3C Guidelines and the Rehabilitation Act 508; develop web graphic designs that work in concert with the university’s web content management system and are consistent with the established look and feel of the CPP web site; maintain constructive working relationships and effective lines of communication with members of the department responsible for transforming wed design layouts into content management templates; contribute to the development of standards and guidelines for the university web site; select and implement web design and development tools; maintain up-to-date knowledge of multimedia trends, analyze new technologies for applicability to the CPP online presence, and develop long-range plans based on evolving technologies; actively participate with other members of the I&IT Division to develop strategic initiative regarding new technologies to improve the online presence of the university as well as perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelors degree in Information Design, Instructional Design, Multimedia Education or a related field. Basic knowledge of specialty work area demonstrated by an understanding and use of general principals and terminology; demonstrates understanding of the standard technology and systems in place with the capability of supporting and operating this technology; recognizes problems, identifies possible causes and refers to appropriate party for resolution; ability to solve problems where precedents exist, and acquire knowledge in related specialties; demonstrates competence to work as a team member; and ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing..
Finalists for this position may be required to submit to and successfully pass a Live Scan criminal records check prior to being hired.
Advanced skills in graphic web design and multimedia production techniques and possess strong and direct skills including strong consultation skills. The incumbent must be self-motivated, creative and flexible to achieve desired results; strong management skills desired.
