Conflict of Interest

About Conflict of Interest--It's the Law!

University employees cannot make, participate in making, or attempt to use their official position to influence a CSU decision in which they have a financial interest. An employee is deemed to have personal financial interest in a decision if that decision will have a material financial effect on themselves, a member of their immediate family, or on any one of the five kinds of economic interest as defined in the Political Reform Act of 1974.

University employees should review the five kinds of economic interest and the CSU policy on conflict of interest. A willful violation may result in a misdemeanor.

Annual disclosure statements are required upon appointment to certain designated positions and are updated annually. For additional information and forms, please visit the Conflict of Interest Webpage or contact Leanne Page, Executive Staff Assistant, Office of the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, at 909-869-3019.
