• Open “states.sav” file.
• If you have not already done so, create a new “south” dummy variable:
• Click on “Transform,” then on “Compute.”
• Under “Target Variable:,” type “south”; under “Numeric Expression:” type “0”; click on “OK.”
• Click on “Transform,” then on “Compute.”
• Under “Numeric Expression:” type “1”; click on “If ….”
• Select “Include if case satisfies condition.”
• In right window, type “region = 3”; click on “Continue,” and on “OK” twice.
• Create multiple regression tables:
• Click on “Analyze,” “Regression,” and “Linear….”
• Select “pid” in left window and click on the top right arrow between the windows; select “ideo”; hold down the “Ctrl” key, and select “married” and “south”; click on the second right arrow between the windows; click on “OK.”
