This is the only other perennial in the genus besides E. californica, and it sometimes grows into a small shrub. Its appearance relative to the annual Eschscholzia species is reminiscent of Coreopsis gigantea compared to annual Coreopsis. It is found only on Guadalupe Island. To the best of my knowledge, it has never been grown in cultivation.
