The first part of the lab introduction covers the meaning of sex (meiosis plus syngamy), the sexual life cycle, and the four basic variations (unicellular, diploid dominant, haploid dominant, alternation of generations). This material should be presented on the board. It is summarized in the lab manual.
	The remainder of the lab involves examples of each of the multicellular sexual cycles. Each of these examples will be seen again in its respective Phylum.
