Subject: New logon procedure for public computers

[2 paragraphs deleted]

When this goes into effect, everyone must type in his/her valid BroncoName and BroncoPassword in order to gain access to the computers. Once logged in, the user has full control over their files and certain applications. In the process, a network drive (drive Z:) with 750MB disk space quota will be mapped automatically giving users a lot of space to store their files. After the user logs off the computer, files saved to drive Z: are permanent and can be retrieved from other computers. This can eliminate the need for having to bring a USB drive. Also Microsoft Outlook can be configured with a few clicks by the user.

Logon instructions will be displayed on every computer affected by this (see the list below for details). Systems will continue to monitor and modify the logon policy whenever necessary to ensure a smooth transition. For BroncoName and/or BroncoPassword information, patrons may refer to the campus eHelp website at www.csupomona.edu/~ehelp/ or call the campus helpdesk at extension 6776. Patrons with NO BroncoName/BrocoPasword may use the computers for Learning Commons Express Stations or OPAC Lookup.
