I&IT Projects and Services also supports large multi-department and multi-division projects. The projects typically involve other divisions or outside entities. Current projects include:
This project is funded primarily by the Chancellor's Office and will bring dual Internet connectivity to the campus. I&IT is working closely with Facilities Planning and Management, the Chancellor's Office and CENIC on this project.
This plan is intended to ensure that I&IT reaches a “tipping point” in becoming a Learning-Centeredorganization. This large plan includes Learning goals, objectives and assessment targets for the entire I&IT division.
The Efficient Deployment of Advance Public Transportation project is headed by Dr, Xudong Jia, Professor in the Civil Engineering Department at Cal Poly Pomona. It is a joint effort between Cal Poly Pomona, Caltrans, Cal Poly SLO (where an EDAPS system is already in use), and Laidlaw Transit to do an in-depth study and procurement of an advanced electronic system that will aid in the operation and use of the Bronco Express shuttle service thru the use of technology. This project is funded by a grant.
During the upgrade to the ITRP equipment, there were
areas identified that did not fit the ITRP standards for a variety of reasons; as an example, building 26 was never rewired because it was not identified as a state building at the time of the ITRP wiring portion of the project. Through this project, I&IT will identify those areas and work with other campus entities to resolve them .
