Each World Wide Web server on the campus will have a designated responsible party as its webkeeper. Individuals are responsible for ensuring that both the content and the format of their personal web pages are consistent with guidelines set forth by the university.
The guidelines found in the Cal Poly Pomona Graphic Standards Manual, chapter on Electronic Media (currently being developed,) are intended to create a consistent, attractive and professional image for the University. All World Wide Web Developers are encouraged to adhere to these guidelines. Deviations from guidelines may need to be justified or brought into conformity with established practice.
Existing Usage policies for campus computer accounts apply to web pages, including policies regarding Commercial Use, Copyright, and harassment. Usage must be in accordance with applicable state and federal laws. Among the more important laws are the California State Penal Code, Section 52, and the following federal laws: Electronic Communications privacy act of 1986, Computer Abuse Amendment Action of 1994, and the Telecommunications Act of 1996.
Individuals who become aware of Inappropriate web pages may notify the responsible webkeeper, if known, and/or any campus webkeeper, Who is then responsible for notifying the author, and if necessary, the University of the concern about the web page content/format. The responsible webkeeper, upon authorization from the University or individual, will then suspend access to the web page. If necessary, The complaint may be adjudicated through University channels.
Any web page should be regarded as a state resource and representative of the university.
Individual faculty, administrators, staff and students are encouraged to create web pages on campus-based servers; these will be linked to the Cal Poly Pomona home page via an index. The maximum size of your web pages is determined by the responsible webkeeper.

Individuals must sign a computer usage form in order to obtain their computer account and password on the server. This form explains the correct usage of a Cal Poly World Wide Web account and by signing the form the individuals agree to the terms therein.
Recognized on-campus student organizations are encourages to create web pages on campus-owned servers; these will be linked to the Cal Poly Pomona home page. The Maximum size of our organizations web page is to be determined by the responsible web keeper.
