All repair/trouble reports involving telephones or voice mail should be reported to extension 6900.
An initial attempt will be made to isolate any problems over the telephone. If required, either I&IT Operations or vendor technical personnel will be dispatched to remedy the situation.
Trouble calls involving computers, terminals, printers, software or data network related problems should be reported to the I&IT Helpdesk.
All new installations, moves, changes, or disconnections to existing service must be arranged for and performed by I&IT Operations or authorized vendor personnel, including additions or modifications to the campus owned wiring, conduit systems and manholes. Requests must be submitted in writing via an I&IT Operations Work Order authorized by the appropriate signature level.
Work orders are normally handled on a "first come, first served" basis. If you require a specific completion date, alert us at the time you place your order and every effort will be made to accommodate you.
Each project involving Facilities, Planning and Management usually involves communications infrastructure and equipment. This includes wiring and network connectivity for phones, computers and faxes, along with phone desk sets and networking equipment.
For projects that involve construction of new buildings or major additions in infrastructure and equipment, contact Bill Maris at 909.869.4169 or by email.
Projects that involve several voice, data and or video jacks require specific illustrations of exactly where you want each jack. Your Facilities contact can provide you a copy of the room or building layout that you can use to depict where you want phone, data or video outlets added or relocated.
On our work order form, please provide a customer contact who is available and authorized to answer any questions we may have involving port or phone layouts, the number of jacks, etc.
If there are any special needs (such as wireless connectivity or special satellite video connectivity to a classroom, ob, office area or conference room, please note that on the work order form.
Only voice equipment ordered through I&IT Operations may be connected to the campus system. All telephone equipment remains the property of the University and as such may not be removed. Cost for the replacement of damaged or stolen equipment is the responsibility of the department to which it is assigned.
Do not unplug or move any voice terminal; doing so will trigger an alarm in the system.
