Cal Poly Pomona

Mediavision is the video production and streaming video unit of I&IT Learning and utilizes the latest technologies to support diverse learning styles, teaching strategies and student achievement.

Mediavision operates several video production, video conferencing and classroom studios on the Cal Poly Pomona campus.  We provide digital video and audio recording and live and on-demand video and audio streaming to support classroom instruction and online classes.

Mediavision maintains the video encoding facility and video.csupomona.edu servers (with a combined capacity of 1.2 Terabytes) containing thousands of hours of on-demand video and audio.  Available are classes, lectures, classroom demonstrations, documentaries and interviews with faculty and other noted scholars.

Cal Poly Pomona’s Mediavision was selected to host and video stream award-winning Educational programs produced by Annenberg/CPB and NASA’s “Destination Tomorrow”.  Educational content can be linked to your website.

We maintain the campus cable network delivering over 50 channels of local, satellite, and instructional television programming to classrooms, student resident halls, faculty offices, and to locations throughout the campus.

With our two remote video units we can video stream live and simultaneously encode lectures, conferences and other presentations almost anywhere on campus. In the Spring Mediavision video streams the Cal Poly Pomona commencement ceremonies. Viewers around the world are able to view live and on demand video over the internet.

A voice recording and editing studio for producing sound recordings and digital audio files and a non-linear video editing suite is also part of the Mediavision facilities.

As part of the California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, we draw on a unique combination of experienced professionals and talented students working together in the university's "Learn by Doing" philosophy. Our team includes Video Producer/Directors, Camera Operators, Video Editors, Encoding Technicians, Broadcast Engineer, and Digital Media Designers.  Mediavision can assist you in providing the latest technology in support of classroom instruction and online learning.

We are located in Building 98-B1-262
(Technopolis courtyard of the CLA).
