Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional (Formerly Breeze) is a rich communication system that offers a variety of tools accessible through any web browser.
The Connect family of products allows online meetings, training and presentations to be created in engaging atmospheres enabling multimedia content to be produced in a Flash based environment. There are two main components to Connect that we offer at Cal Poly Pomona:
Tips on Connect/Adobe Presenter Presentations
- Creating the initial content for a presentation takes time and thought. Consider the benefit of having completed Breeze material for future classes & presentations. Re-purposing material is a real time saver!
- Keep presentation at 20 min. maximum or less to secure user attention.
- Break down large concepts, chunk into smaller pieces for comprehension.
- Logically sequence information from simple to complex and from concrete to abstract.
- Use multimedia components to convey your messages. Video, Flash, Audio Narration, Photography and Graphics are Breeze friendly "additives" to your PowerPoint presentation.
- The most effective way to convey your message is through a combination of images and words.
- Quizzes and testing components can actively engage users.
- Create opportunities for interaction. Engagement is a major factor in communicating key points.
- Use color for identifying key points and elements. Color preferences tend to be: blue, red, green, purple, orange, and yellow. (color-deficiency / color blindness is common so design appropriately - The simple rule is to make backgrounds lighter and text darker. If your text is red, it may appear black which creates difficulty if your background is also black.)
- Be consistent in design.
