Information Technology Consultant (ITC) -
Instructional Designer

Description and Classification Standard

Quoting the standard: Direct consultative support and training on IT-based systems, primarily in the areas of applications software, multimedia, database resources, and network support; may include moderate hardware consultation and support. Typically has broad knowledge of multiple applications, database systems and sources, and equipment types. Not usually involved in design and systems analysis on an ongoing basis which would require an in-depth knowledge of engineering or programming techniques.

At Cal Poly Pomona: Instructional design ITC positions work with faculty to develop online, hybrid or web-enhanced courses, course web sites, web-based applications and learning materials; conduct related faculty development workshops and create training materials and documentation.

A bachelors level degree in Information Design, Instructional Design, Multimedia Education or a related field. A bachelors level degree in Information Design, Instructional Design, Multimedia Education or a related field with relevant experience totaling two years full-time or the equivalent part-time. A masters level degree in Information Design, Instructional Design, Multimedia Education or a related field with five years full-time relevant experience.
