Human Resource Services has been conducting "Understanding CalPERS" workshops on an on-going basis for Cal Poly Pomona CalPERS members. The workshop presentation is for 2 1/2 hour and it is developed and delivered by the Benefits Office. Subjects covered at the workshop include the following:
A brief overview of the CalPERS program and an introduction to CalPERS information available On-Line.
The Benefits Analyst provides group training sessions for employees in navigating the CalPERS website and accessing the CalPERS on-line retirement Calculator (hands-on learning), the navigation to Service Credit Purchase information, the annual statement and other information. Additional topics covered in this workshop include: Benefits at retirement and the process/steps for submitting your retirement application.
Please Note: If you are not eligible for benefits at the time of retirement, you are not eligible to receive health coverage into retirement. The employees eligible for benefits and retirement must retire within 120 days from the date of separation from employment in order to receive health coverage into retirement.
All CalPERS members are welcome. This workshop is highly recommended for employees who have at least five years of CalPERS service credit and minimum age 50.
The workshops are presented in a computer lab and seating is limited to twenty (20) employees. A reservation must be made in advance by calling Nancy Kitamura, Benefits Assistant, at ext. 3734 or you may send an email to her at nskitamura@csupomona.edu
