
Following are the standard effective dates for new/newly eligible employees enrolling during their initial 60-day enrollment period. Please check with Benefit Services for effective dates for specific enrollment changes and/or late enrollments.
If you submit your completed enrollment form (CalPERS form HBD-12) by the end of the pay period in which your qualifying appointment begins, medical coverage typically will begin the first of the following month. Note: Pay periods generally following a calendar month cycle. For exceptions, please view the pay period calendar.
If you submit your completed dental enrollment form by the end of the pay period in which your qualifying appointment begins, dental coverage typically will begin the first of the following month.
Enrollment in vision is automatic and is effective the first of the month following the pay period in which your eligible appointment begins.
In you submit your completed FlexCash Enrollment form by the end of the pay period in which your qualifying appointment begins, FlexCash payments begin the first of the second month. Example: Your qualifying appointment begins in the September pay period, and you complete your FlexCash Enrollment by the end of September, then your first FlexCash payment will be on your November 1st paycheck.
