Quizzes covering the assigned readings or previous lecture may be given at the beginning of any lecture or lab section, unless otherwise noted. Always bring a small scantron to class. Quizzes will be closed book, but one page (8.5" x 11", both sides) of notes may be used. You may be asked to turn in the notes with the quizzes.

There will be a total of 200 quiz points during the quarter. Quizzes may cover the reading assigned for that day and may also include general questions from the previous lecture. Questions that most appropriately would be asked on days on which we have field trips or guests may be on quizzes on the day of the next regular class meeting. Quizzes will include multiple choice questions and short essay questions. You should bring a small scantron to every class.

In addition, there will be opportunities to earn a few extra credit points that will be applied to your quiz grade. These will be announced in class and posted on the quiz page (this page) of the class web site. No more than 20 quiz points may be from extra credit.
