About

The Graduation Initiative at Cal Poly Pomona

What is the CSU Graduation Initiative?

Each CSU campus is charged with establishing graduation targets comparable to the top quartile of national averages of similar institutions, and to close the achievement gap among underrepresented minority (URM) students through a series of carefully planned activities.

What are the goals of the CPP Graduation Initiative?

The Cal Poly Pomona Graduation Initiative Steering Committee has identified the goals of the University Graduation Initiative. Each Graduation Initiative activity addresses one or more of the overall goals of the CPP Graduation Initiative program. The goals of the Cal Poly Pomona Graduation Initiative are to:

  • Increase year-to-year persistence and retention.
  • Increase ratio of units earned to ratio of units attempted.
  • Increase ratio of units to degree to units completed per year.
  • Increase outreach and support to underrepresented minority students.
