Graduate & Professional School Day 2007

On Thursday, October 18 from 10 AM - 3 PM at the University Quad, the Career Center will be hosting it's annual Graduate and Professional School Day! Over 90 graduate schools from all majors are expected to attend this event. Anybody who expects to graduate this year or is thinking of attending graduate school in the future is highly encouraged to attend. General Meetings

We have lots of exciting events planned for Spring Quarter. There will be more chapter socials, and more community service events. Come out and join us to receive information on all upcoming activities and to learn what we are about, and enjoy some free pizza! Habitat for Humanity - New Orleans

It’s been two years since hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans. Two years, and 1/3 of the city still needs to be rebuilt. In what has probably been our biggest community service event yet, several members of Golden Key helped speed up the healing process by working with Habitat for Humanity in helping to rebuild a house on New Orleans’ East Side. We did everything from painting, caulking, roof work, and more. The heat and humidity was no match for us (even though a few of us did get sunburned).

Of course, we couldn’t stay in the Big Easy without doing our fair share of partying! The Southern hospitality was everywhere as we were constantly being welcomed into both jazz and (air-conditioned!) dance clubs, getting discounts when buying anti-FEMA shirts, and savoring the heavenly Southern food in every restaurant we went to! Alligator soup, bread pudding, gumbo, Louisiana crab cakes, and shrimp Creole… you can bet our taste buds took some chances, and experienced a whole new kind of happiness during those three days!

Special thanks to our co-director of community service, Dan Dow, for setting up this service event and giving those of us who went an opportunity to make a huge difference in the lives of those less fortunate. It was an honor to have played a part in something so important for Golden Key.
