The project upgrades twelve (12) crosswalks locations along University Drive; crosswalks will be perpendicular realigned for a shorter crossing distance, and marked with high visibility striping. The new marking will help to direct pedestrians to the center of the crosswalk; speed bumps will also be removed to improve pedestrian safety.
The base work to upgrade the crosswalks is complete, eleven existing crosswalks were realigned and re-stripped, three new raised crosswalks were created, the speed bumps removed, a new crosswalk high intensity flashing beacon, and two solar power speed feedback signs were also installed.
