About This Project

The project will create a raised intersection to bring the roadway to sidewalk level to make pedestrian presence more visible to motorists. The southbound right-turn lane from Mansion Lane to University Drive will be removed and the sidewalk reconstructed.

The completion of this project is scheduled for the last week of April, 2008; crews will start construction activities on March 22, following the end of the winter quarter in an effort to complete the entire construction during the spring break.

Progress of Major Construction Activities

  • Contractor will be installing traffic controls and begin pavement saw cut and demolition on March 22, 2008

Key/Critical Issues Currently Pending

  • The importance of this intersection and adjacent buildings will require construction activities to be closed coordinated with the contractor. Some of the work will have to be scheduled between 4PM and 10PM, and over the weekends.
  • To apply the new asphalt it may be necessary to close the intersection over the weekend, access to emergency crews will be allowed at all times.
